Commendation honors NASW Foundation’s sound fiscal management
Washington –The National Association of Social Workers Foundation (NASW Foundation) has achieved its third consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator. This honor notes the ability of the NASW Foundation to efficiently manage and grow its finances. The NASW Foundation is among only 10% of the charities that Charity Navigator evaluates receiving their highest rating for three consecutive years.
“The National Association of Social Workers Foundation is honored to have received the 4-star rating from Charity Navigator year in and year out,” says Robert Arnold, director of the NASW Foundation. “This commendation assures our donors and other partners that we are furthering the mission of the NASW Foundation in a fiscally responsible way.”
While always acting as society’s safety net, social workers and their services will be in increasing demand in the coming years, particularly in these troubled economic times. The NASW Foundation supports social workers in their work on behalf of individuals, families and communities.
The NASW Foundation is the only charitable organization devoted solely to strengthening the social work profession and advancing social work policy and practice. Among other efforts, the NASW Foundation furthers the profession by:
- Supporting emerging social workers through scholarships and fellowships
- Providing continuing education opportunities for social workers
- Overseeing grant-funded research and projects that contribute to social work best practices
- Funding the National Social Work Public Education Campaign
- Honoring social workers who have made significant contributions to the profession.
Receiving this commendation from Charity Navigator sets the NASW Foundation above other charities and provides donors with greater confidence that their donation is going to an efficient charity that supports the mission of the social work profession.

How does the National Association of Social Workers get a four star rating – when they continue to allow their unprofessional, incompetent and egregious Social Workers to continue to destroy childrens lives in custody situations. Especially, in the State of California. There have be many horrific cases that have been published on a number of websites, newspapers, and personal experiences and your agency continues to ignore them, but you continue to license these people. Relizing they all have their yaght payments to make – they play and feed off the poor parents and very innocent children only to prevent one parent from getting custody or allowing them to move. And I am talking about very good parents here. Sure their are some bad seeds in the pack, but overall most parents are good parents and do what they think is right. But, you don’t allow a very selfish mother to move with a child thousands of miles away just because she fell out of love with the father and wants to be with her boyfriend. This is what your so called LASW
do. They do not have a clue what is in the best interest of the child!!!
I have sent numerous complaints on one case in particlar on a certain LASW (evaluator for custody divorce). And they said, it was beyond their control. This was also done to your Assoc. I had an evaluator perjure himself to me after he had turned in his report to the Judge. Got the same lame
excuse. Why do you people have these associations if you are only hurting the public. Especially, innocent children.
A great deal of them obviously do not obey their code of ethics. Shame on you.
